Brazil is facing an intense heat wave, with temperatures well above the average for this time of year in all regions of the country.
On Wednesday (22), São Paulo recorded the highest temperature of the year so far, reaching 33.8°C.
The forecast for this Thursday (23) indicates the continuation of hot weather in several capitals.
In Curitiba, the maximum should reach 28°C, while Campo Grande should exceed 30°C. Brasília is not far behind, with thermometers showing 30°C.
Heat and rain in several regions
In addition to the high temperatures, rain is forecast for several capitals, especially in the late afternoon, due to the combination of heat and humidity.
In Florianópolis, the forecast maximum is 31°C, with the possibility of rain showers.
Belo Horizonte should register 32°C, and Palmas reaches 35°C, both with chances of precipitation.
Salvador and Recife also face heat, with maximums of 31°C and 30°C, respectively, and forecast of light and isolated rains.
Porto Alegre, in turn, will have firm and sunny weather, with a maximum of 33°C.
Change in weather forecast for next week
The change in the weather pattern is only expected for next week, when a cold front will form on the coast of the southern region.
This will bring rain and relief from the heat, mainly affecting the states of Santa Catarina, Paraná, Mato Grosso do Sul, Goiás, Minas Gerais, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
Until then, Rio de Janeiro will continue to face temperatures close to 40°C, with rain forecast for today, but no precipitation expected for Sunday.
It is important to highlight that, although there is rain forecast for practically all of Brazil this Thursday, the showers will be typical of summer.
The regions between the north of Ceará and the state of Rondônia, as well as from the northwest of Rio Grande do Sul to the Triângulo Mineiro, present a risk of more intense storms.
