The government of Rio de Janeiro authorized that state schools without adequate climate control reduce the workload by 50% in person during the heat wave. Of the 1,234 teaching units in the state, 200 are without air conditioning, according to the Secretariat of Education (Seeduc).
According to the government, since 2023, a mapping of the structural conditions of schools has been done, and it is expected that, within 90 days, 180 units are air -conditioned.

The state also registered a growth of 370% in forest fires outbreaks and more than 120% in sea rescues on the beach.
