A heat wave started this Tuesday (22) in most of Brazil and should last until Friday (25), according to the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet). You thermometers will be 4° to 5°C above average for the next few days.
the meteorologist Mamedes Luiz Melo predicts that record temperatures will be recorded and thermometers around 40 °C in the following regions of the country:
- Mato Grosso do Sul, mainly in the Pantanal
- isolated areas of Mato Grosso
- northwest of Goiás
- southeast of amazon
- southwest of Pará
With the high temperatures and low humidity, fires in much of the country are likely to increase, in addition to the air quality in several centers being severely affected, according to the expert.
North
sRainfall volumes greater than 30 millimeters are not expected in northwest Amazonas, due to the heat and high humidity. In other areas, such as Pará, Amapá and Tocantins, there will be a predominance of dry weather without rain.
North East
Forecast of dry weather without rain, in addition to low values of relative humidity, mainly in areas of Matopiba (Maranhão, Tocantins, Piauí and Bahia) and interior of the region. However, at the beginning of the week, low accumulated rainfall may occur on the south coast of Bahia.
Midwest
The persistence of a hot and dry air mass will leave the weather stable and without rain in practically the entire region. In addition, low relative humidity values may be recorded, reaching values below 20%, mainly in the states of Mato Grosso, Goiás and the Federal District.
Southeast
The weather will also be dry and without rain, mainly in areas of western São Paulo, Triângulo Mineiro and northern Minas Gerais. Still in the north of Minas, low relative humidity values can be registered, below 30%.
In areas of Rio de Janeiro, Espírito Santo and eastern Minas Gerais, rainfall volumes greater than 30 mm may occur.
South
The action of a cold front over the ocean, at the beginning of the week, will intensify areas of instability that will cause accumulated rainfall that may exceed 10 mm in Rio Grande do Sul and eastern Santa Catarina.
In the west of the region, mainly in Paraná, there is a forecast of dry weather and no rain for most of the week.
