Heat wave: SP begins distributing water to homeless people

The government of São Paulo begins distributing, this Wednesday (20), water in high circulation areas in the capital of São Paulo to serve homeless people and the public most vulnerable to high temperatures and low air humidity, such as the elderly. and children.

This Wednesday, distribution will take place between 11am and 3pm at Praça da Sé and Teatro Municipal. Civil Defense agents will also guide the population with recommendations on how to maintain constant hydration, avoid direct exposure to the sun at the most critical times and humidify closed environments.

The measure was taken after a strong heat wave hit several regions of the country this week – including the state of São Paulo.

The Emergency Management Center (CGE) issued a weather alert with a forecast of a maximum of 37 °C in the city of São Paulo this Sunday (24).

Still according to the CGE, the relative humidity of the air may be below 30%.
