Western Europe is melting from the heat, where experts are talking about extreme weather behavior. In France, more than 16,000 people were evacuated due to fires in the southwest, while more than 1,000 deaths in Spain and Portugal attributed to heat wave in recent daysin accordance with BBC.
In Spain, more than 3,2000 people left the Mijas region, with some managing to return later.
In Portugal, the fires are currently under control.
Ellen McCurdy, who lives in the Malaga area, told Reuters: “We just grabbed some essentials and literally ran. There were many ambulances and fire engines.’
In Britain, the Met Office has issued a red heat alert for large parts of England, from York and Manchester to London and the southeast.
The hottest temperature ever recorded in the UK was 38.7 degrees in Cambridge in 2019, the BBC reports. Today heat expected across Wales and parts of Scotland.

The heat wave will continue tomorrow, Tuesday 19/7 and dew is expected from Wednesday. It is the first time the Met Office has issued a red warning since it began operating last year.
