About a thousand families were affected by floods in the state of Maranhão caused by the rains that have fallen in the Northeast region of the country. The information is from the anchor of the CNN Daniela Lima.
According to the state governor, Flávio Dino (PSB), the state government started social assistance actions with the distribution of food baskets and medicines, in addition to sending Fire Department teams to help the municipalities.
The federal government claimed to have held talks to monitor the situation in the region through the channels of the National Civil Defense.
However, in conversation with the anchor of the CNN Daniela Lima, Dino stated that he is not aware of any actions by the federal government in the state so far.
