Heineken said on Wednesday (16) that it reversed the loss of 204 million euros recorded in 2020 and obtained a net profit of 3.32 billion euros in 2021. The result exceeded the consensus of 2.28 billion euros calculated on from forecasts of 23 brokers.
The revenue of the second largest brewer in the world jumped 11.3% on the same comparative basis, to 21.941 billion euros.
According to the balance sheet, the metric had a negative exchange rate impact of 515 million euros, mainly due to the Brazilian real and the Nigerian naira.
The company highlighted the performance in Brazil, with a 10% growth in beer volume in the fourth quarter. The company said it has consolidated itself in the leadership of the premium segment, driven by the brands Heineken and Eisenbahn.
Although it has recorded gains, Heineken stressed that it is going through a challenging context due to the global escalation of inflation.
