Through a special digital platform, registration applications are submitted for the admission of male and female students, during the 2022-2023 school year, to the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Experimental Vocational Apprenticeship Schools.
This is an initiative, which includes seven Vocational Schools, concerns three specialties and is supported by the Hellenic-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with the Public Employment Service (D.YP.A.) and the Institute of the Association of Hellenic Tourism Enterprises (INSETE).
Applications are submitted exclusively through gov.gr with TAXISnet codes at the email address: https://www.gov.gr/ipiresies/ekpaideuse/eggraphe-se-skholeio/eggraphe-se-peiramatike-epaggelmatike-skhole-tou-oaed
Specifically, anyone interested can follow the route: gov.gr → Education → Enroll in a school → Enroll in an experimental vocational school of DYPA.
The right to apply is for those who are 18 years of age or older, holders of a High School Diploma or other equivalent or higher qualification.
The three specializations for tourism and hospitality markets are as follows:
– Hotel Receptionist – Good knowledge of a foreign language (English or French or German) is essential
– Culinary Artisan – Good knowledge of a foreign language is desirable
– Food Technician – A good knowledge of a foreign language is desirable
Experimental EPAS operate in seven cities (Athens, Thessaloniki, Corfu, Crete, Mytilini, Patras and Rhodes) and apply the dual training system, which combines theoretical and laboratory training with Apprenticeship (learning at a workplace with pay and insurance) in businesses. The theoretical part is implemented in the Schools from November to April, while the Apprenticeship in companies will take place from May to October. The remuneration of students corresponds to 25.27 euros for each day of apprenticeship in a workplace, which lasts a total of 12 months.
The cooperation of the D.YPA.A. with the Hellenic-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry and INSETE, which have extensive experience in the field of Vocational Education and Tourism, guarantees the placement of all apprentices in Apprenticeship positions in distinguished businesses in the Tourism sector (hotels 4 & 5 stars), strengthening, at the same time, the prospect of their professional rehabilitation, after the completion of the studies.
