Henkel will continue to operate in Russia for the time being, the president of the German consumer goods group said on Monday, adding that the company’s activities in the country are subject to restrictions.
“This is sometimes very critical of the public. Therefore, it is important for me to stress that we are fully implementing all existing sanctions,” President Simone Bagel-Trah told shareholders at the annual general meeting of shareholders.
He added that the administration will monitor the current geopolitical developments very closely and will take further measures if necessary.
The group, which produces consumer goods and employs about 2,500 people in Russia, stopped all investment as well as advertising and subsidies in the country in early March.
