Monique Medeiros, mother of the boy Henry Borel, installed this Wednesday (6) the electronic anklet and went to house arrest, as determined by the Justice on Tuesday (5).
Monique had been in preventive detention since April last year in the GericinĂ³ Complex, in the West Zone of Rio. She was denounced along with her former partner, Dr. Jairinho, for the murder of his son, then 4 years old.
The 2nd Criminal Court granted house arrest with precautionary measures. Henry’s mother can only have contact with defense attorneys and family members, and cannot post on social media or live in the house she lived in with Dr. Jairinho and Henry in Barra da Tijuca, west of Rio.
Monique did not speak to the press when entering or leaving the Electronic Monitoring Coordination, in Rio de Janeiro. At around 12:05, she left the place with the electronic anklet in place.
Henry died on March 8, 2021 after being tortured in the apartment where the couple and the child lived. The couple was denounced by the Public Prosecutor’s Office for triple aggravated homicide and torture against the child.
The complaint charges Monique with the crime of homicide by omission, as she understands that she had a duty to protect and supervise the child.
