As noted by the developers, the Midnight Black variant with black and light gray elements symbolizes how we see space through the night sky, while the Cosmic Red color scheme is dominated by rich black and red colors – inspired by the bright shades of red that are found on many photographs of space.

One of the designers on the Sony team, Leo Cardoso, explained:

We always strive to come up with designs that can surprise and aesthetically delight players. While working on new colors, we selected the colors very carefully. We wanted them to complement each other and retain the spirit of the original DualSense wireless controller and PS5 console, so we decided to focus on the ‘galaxy’ theme as it felt like an organic evolution of the design of the original PS5 and its accessories. ”

In the US, Black and Red DualSense are available for pre-order at $ 70 and $ 75 respectively. The start of deliveries is scheduled for June 11th. In Russia, the exact timing of the start of sales and prices have not yet been announced. For comparison, a standard DualSense costs 70 dollars in the US, and 5999 rubles in Russia.
