It has been talked about for at least three years and, finally, the big moment has arrived: from 2 to 5 June the United Kingdom dresses up to celebrate the seventy years of reign of Queen Elizabeth, its longest-lived sovereign ready, despite the fatigue and the weight of age, to attend the (great) celebrations in his honor. Among the most anticipated of the Platinum Jubilee, the Platinum Party, the event that will open the doors of Buckingham Palace to some of the most famous artists in the world, from Queen with Adam Lambert to Alicia Keysfrom Andrea Bocelli to Duran Duran, from Diana Ross to Sam Ryder, the tiktoker who finished second in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. The question, however, is one: where to follow, on television and in streaming, the most unmissable events of the Jubilee?
Let’s start right from Platinum Party, which will be broadcast on Saturday 4 June in prime time on Sky channel 109 and on Sky Arte – the rerun of the evening will instead be broadcast on Sunday 5th on Sky Uno starting at 8.50am. For the great parade, in which 5 thousand subjects will participate to pay homage to the sovereign, the appointment is, instead, for Sunday 5 June on Rai1 starting at 16, for a live broadcast by Tg1 which will involve the presenter Isabella Romano and the correspondents Marco Varvello and Natalia Augias. For fans of the Queen and the British Royal House, the other events will be available in streaming by connecting to BBC One, BBC iPlayer and BBC Radio 2: at 11 am on Thursday 2 June there will be the Trooping the Color, the military parade with the participation of over 200 horses, army musicians, soldiers and officers; at 21 the Lighting up the Jubileein which it will be turned on The Tree of Trees at Buckingham Palace by a member of the royal family; while Friday 3 June is scheduled on the BBC One channel Service of Thanksgivingthe traditional mass in which the Queen will be thanked (broadcast from 10.15 am).
But that’s not all, since Sky Uno has set up an entire schedule dedicated solely to the Royal Family on the occasion of the Platinum Jubilee: the most irreducible ones will be able to tune in to Sky channel 109 from 3 to 5 June. On this occasion, in fact, the network will offer its viewers a journey to discover the history, including documentaries, testimonies, curiosities and secrets of one of the most famous families in the world which, even today, continues to exert a particular fascination also fueled from the small and big screen, to the success of The Crown on Netflix – the fifth season is expected in November – and wonderful films like Spencer by Pablo LarraÃn.
