Hermes International said sales across all production lines and geographies rose in the first quarter, despite problems with lockdowns in China.
Total sales amounted to 2.77 billion euros in the quarter, and increased by 27% in fixed currency compared to the same period last year.
Analysts expected the French luxury goods company to announce sales of 2.53 billion euros.
Comparable sales increased 28% over the period while the ready-made garments and accessories sector recorded the largest increase, at 44%.
Sales in Asia, excluding Japan, rose 20% year-on-year despite the impact of lockdowns in China at the end of the quarter, which included the closure of stores in cities such as Shanghai and Shenyang.
For the future, Hermes stressed that the impact of the pandemic on its sales throughout the year was difficult to assess.
However, it supported its ambitious goal of increasing fixed income in the medium term.
