The leader of the Hezbollah movement said Wednesday that any request for the disarmament of his military arm “serves the Israeli plan” and accused the American special envoy Tom Barack of using “threats and intimidation” with an “exclusive” goal. “Anyone who today calls for weapons to be delivered, either to Lebanon or abroad (…), serves the Israeli plan,” Naim Kassem said during a speech, which was broadcast directly, at a ceremony for the anniversary of the murder of Fuud Suruk on July 30, July 2024. “We will not submit to Israel,” he insisted.
