Hezbollah’s highest-ranking official, Naim Qassim, has vowed to continue the group’s mission of fighting Israel and defending Palestinians despite the losses suffered by the group in Lebanon.
Israel’s claims of having hit most of the group’s medium- and long-range missiles are a “dream that they have not achieved and will not achieve,” he said.
“We are ready if Israel decides to enter by land. The resistance will be ready for a confrontation.”
“All the sacrifices we went through, starting with the pagers, to the martyrdom of our leaders and the martyrdom of our secretary general… would shake armies, populations and organizations, but we continue. With the pain of these days, with the sacrifices, we continue.”
Hezbollah will continue with its “field goals and objectives” defined by Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah, who died on Friday (27), he said.
“The Islamic resistance will continue to confront the Israeli enemy in support of Gaza and Palestine, and to defend Lebanon and its people, and in response to the murders and slaughter of civilians,” he said.
This is the first public speech by a figure from the group since Nasrallah’s assassination.
