High demand for work in Prinos

Contrary to the trend of the time, which does not have in fashion the plans in the research and development of hydrocarbons, the interest for work in Prinos proves to be great, where the unique oil production in our country is located.

Last Wednesday, Energean, which manages the deposits of the Gulf of Kavala, published an announcement for recruitment on land facilities and offshore platforms.

Within 48 hours, the company has received approximately 120 applications for the total of five specialties it has requested. These are, in particular, Chemical Process Production Operators, Warehouse Workers & Clark Operators with a diploma, Crane Operators, Instrument Technicians as well as Electricians.

According to information, the interest is expressed by former employees in Prinos who had left during previous administrations, by Greeks who work in other cities of the country or abroad and want to make a career in an already well-paid sector as well as by foreigners who either have worked on past drilling projects or just know that this is a job in a very beautiful and developed tourist area.

The significant investments, amounting to over 650 million, planned by Energean, starting from the completion of the development of the Epsilon deposit, which is estimated to give a significant impetus to the production of the Gulf of Kavala, are obviously a lure. to bring it, along with the older deposits of Prinos and North Prinos even in five-digit numbers per day.

And, of course, there are plans for the first investment in the Mediterranean in carbon dioxide storage as well as in the production of ecological hydrogen, investments that will have obvious environmental benefits and will modernize a complex that is already four decades old.

It is worth mentioning that the company is recruiting in order to replace a large number of employees who refuse to come to work, in the context of the company’s dispute with the management of the Employees’ Union.

This dispute, which took place on the occasion of a voluntary exit program prepared by the company, had even led to the occupation of the facilities by a group of employees.

The siege ended shortly before Christmas after a police intervention and in the midst of serious incidents by the squatters, which led to dismissals and an ongoing prosecutorial investigation.
