High season flight network will grow 12.6% in 2022 and 2023, says association

The Brazilian Airlines Association (Abear) reported this Friday (25) that the 2022/2023 high season network of the associates Gol, Latam, Abaeté, Voepass and Rima will have 163,300 flights from December to March 2023 throughout the country, according to a survey carried out by the entity with data recorded at the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac).

Together, the associates report growth of 12.6% compared to the same period last year.

“These data prove the efficiency of Abear members in increasing the number of flights even in the face of the pressure suffered by the sector, which challenges us every day. We faced the volatility of the price of a barrel of oil and the dollar and even so managed to launch new bases, routes and connect all the states of Brazil”, says in a note the president of the association, Eduardo Sanovicz.

In the North Region, there will be 6,800 flights from December to March 2023. Pará will have 2,358 departures, followed by Amazonas (1,811), Tocantins (831), Rondônia (557), Acre (561), Amapá (506) and Roraima (243).

The air network of the Northeast region in the high season will have more than 29.1 thousand flights in the period. Bahia will have 10,143 matches, followed by Ceará (6,151), Pernambuco (4,238), Rio Grande do Norte (2,143), Alagoas (2,014), Maranhão (1,311), Paraíba (1,289), Sergipe (1,001) and Piauí (861). ).

The Midwest will have more than 22,600 flights. The Federal District will have 16,219 matches, followed by Goiás (3,013), Mato Grosso (1,868) and Mato Grosso do Sul (1,544).

The Southeast region’s network will have more than 83,800 flights. São Paulo will have 57,098 departures, followed by Rio de Janeiro (16,738), Minas Gerais (6,761) and Espírito Santo (3,232).

The high season in the South region will have more than 20,700 flights from December to March 2023. Paraná will have 7,404,000 departures, followed by Santa Catarina (6,712) and Rio Grande do Sul (6,610).
