The suspect in the massacre during the parade for the American national day in the city of Highland Park (Illinois) were charged yesterday with seven murders, the district attorney of Lake County, north of Chicago, announced.
If convicted, Robert Crimmo, 21, faces life in prison without the possibility of parole, said Lake County District Attorney Eric Rinehart. “These are only the first of many accusations against Mr. Krimo,” he added during a press conference.
The young man is accused of opened fire with a ‘powerful’ rifle from the roof of a shopping mall on a crowd of people watching a student marchturning the celebration of America’s independence into a national tragedy, according to the Athens News Agency.
“Bobby” Krimo will remain in custody without the possibility of parole, the prosecutor added. His first court appearance will take place later today.
