A traffic accident left at least 21 dead on Wednesday (15), on a highway that connects the states Oaxaca and Puebla, Mexico, according to an important state authority.
In a publication on social networks, Puebla Interior Minister Samuel Aguilar said the accident involved three vehicles and that an unspecified number of others was being treated by injuries.
The Mexican newspaper La Jornada reported that a frontal collision occurred when a cement truck tried to overtake another vehicle before crossing the opposite track and reaching a bus, which then crashed head -on with a transport van.
According to the report, the truck fell into a ravine and caught fire after the collisions.
The accident occurs after other collisions on steep roads in distant areas in Mexico.
In March, at least 11 people died when the bus that transported them overturned in Oaxaca. By 2023, at least 29 people died after a bus fell into a ravine that crossed the southern state.
