Hilary Swank talks about the loss of her father: “I miss her every day”

«This year has been meaningful for me and I know it has been so for many of us. I’ve been away from the phone and social media for a couple of months due to a tremendous personal loss. ‘ So the Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank announced, in greeting 2021, the disappearance of his father, Stephen Michael, which took place last October. In 2014 she had undergone a lung transplant and she had decided from that moment to move away from Hollywood (and return four years later as she told Vanity Fair in this interview) to stay close to him and help him in the recovery.

“I grew up incredibly close to him during this period, deepening our relationship and savoring every moment we spent together,” wrote the actress, recounting the last months spent by her father’s side. “He will always remain one of my favorite people and not a day goes by that I don’t miss you.”

The loss of her father was also a moment for Hilary Swank to look within. “It helped me better understand the circle of life, where we come from and where we come back. All this has reconnected me to my truest self, ”he added. “It has helped me to forgive, to overcome the things that hold me back, in whatever form it takes each day. In addition to being deeply connected to the Ultimate Source and therefore, my father, always ».

Regarding the stop at work, Swank explained: «I don’t consider it a sacrifice. It was an instant decision. There is no movie that can compete with the need to be next to a loved one while they are struggling to survive. A film is just a film ».

Before telling of her father’s death, the actress had dedicated a post to him last November, on the occasion of the day dedicated to veterans, publishing a photo in which Stephen Michael Swank, very young, he wore the uniform of a sergeant. “This is for my favorite veteran, my father. He served 27 years in the Air Force. He was a senior sergeant major who served this country with the greatest pride and joy. He liked it and presented himself with the heart. Just like all his endeavors and relationships. I love you dad”.
