The fashion of historical trains is back, those with the old locomotives refurbished, which travel on the tracks of the old railway and which, therefore, put a “little more” to us than the cars at 250 km (excluded delays). But do you want to put if you are on vacation, without any haste if not to let yourself be overwhelmed by the Ozio, admiring the landscape around? To feel a bit like on the Orient Express, but all frescoed by the “tricolor”, this summer you go up in a carriage. Maybe avoiding The Dolce Vita Orient Expressthe cousin of the famous train, because – apart from the prohibitive prices (3 days to 8,880 euros per person) -, retraces the stages most appreciated by foreign tourists, for us Italians, quite obvious. Like the route that starts from Rome Ostiense in the morning, to reach Montalcino, after a gourmet lunch on board prepared by chef Heinz Beck, 3 Michelin stars. But the historical trains we want to talk about are others, let’s say, more within everyone’s reach for American tourists.
Among other things, to shoot in Tuscany, the bus service was recently launched by “AT – Tuscan Autolinee” from the name Destination Tuscanya new initiative that brings with it a dense proposal of seasonal connections with the bus: 50 new daily services to expand the current 1,000 lines and over 29 thousand runs that connect the region every day. Here are the historical trains not to be missed to discover villages, landscapes, art from north to south.
