Ford unveiled the electric Ford F-150 Lightning pickup just over a week ago, which became an instant hit. Now the first reviews of the car began to appear on the network, revealing new details about it.
Renowned tech blogger Marques Brownlee managed to get a prototype Ford F-150 Lightning for testing and found that the pickup could deliver much more mileage than the manufacturer’s claims would suggest.
The range with a standard battery is 370 km, with a high-capacity battery – 480 km. Ford representatives explained to Brownlee that a vehicle with a load of 454 kg (1,000 lb) should travel this distance.
Brownlee said that the prototype provided to him by Ford showed a range of 590 km, using up about 80% of the charge without any load in the back. This means that an electric vehicle can travel over 644 km without load.
Ford plans to begin deliveries in the spring of 2021.
