The 47% of Italians, in full pandemic, it does that dreaming of a vacation, even a small one, much more than a dinner at a restaurant (26%) or a night at the cinema (16%): a new research by Airbnb, who conducted a survey with a thousand people, which also tells us that this long year of Covid has profoundly changed our idea of ​​travel, and therefore our desires in terms of destinations.

According to the study, now that we all live hyper-connected between videoconferencing and smartworking, more than to try new experiences or discover new places, the holiday has become an opportunity to completely disconnect: for this reason the favorites are isolated destinations, immersed in nature, above all rural (in the gallery above you will find 10 country houses to rent on Airbnb).

THE NEW GREEN TRIPS
A trend that already emerged last summer, when our holidays were mostly in Italy, in nearby places that also guaranteed physical distancing, which will only consolidate next season. For 28% of Italians, in fact, a break in the mountains or in the countryside is ideal, first of all because they offer tranquility which translates, for example, into the opportunity to disconnect (29% of the sample want this type of stay precisely for digital detox), and because more than other places allow you to spend a sustainable holiday: an element crucial so much that 30% of survey respondents said they would pay up to 10% more for green accommodation. Do you prefer them? After the beach houses (28% of preferences), for 2 out of 10 Italians they are farmhouses. Travel plans for this summer are being addressed on these premises: 44% of Italians have already done research for a reservation, and 51% promise to do so immediately after Easter, while the‘11% despite the uncertainties have already booked a trip.

Starting from these new data, Airbnb is also redesigning its way of offering holidays. The survey, in fact, was presented on the occasion of the signing of the partnership between the global travel platform which gathers 4 million hosts, and Agriturist, the National Association for Agritourism, the Environment and the Territory of Confagricoltura, which has 5 thousand members. Airbnb and Agritrust have established a program, theAirbnb Rural Bootcamp which consists of a cycle of online seminars to train owners of agritourisms and agricultural businesses to become the perfect Super Hosts, therefore destined to multiply the quality offers in terms of rural tourism on the platform. A project that is part of an Airbnb global campaign to promote rural tourism.
