December is here and the Google dedicated today’s Doodle (3/12) in the festive season that most of the… western world lives in and not only culminating in the holidays of Christmas and the coming of the new year.
The seasonal holidays, as mentioned by Google they start with Thanksgiving Day in the US and go until Thanksgiving Eve New Year. In this way all holidays associated with Western culture are encompassed.
It’s the time when people start buying gifts and setting new goals for the coming year, it’s days when people decorate trees and houses, cities around the world put on their… goodies and light is everywhere. It is also a holiday for students and vacation days for workers and as Andy Williams sings… “This is The Most Wonderful Time of The Year”.
The holiday season is as much cultural as it is religious. Starting with Thanksgiving and continuing with Hannukah, the Christmas festivities that culminate on December 25th and include Las Posadas, the Spanish-speaking world’s celebration, and then New Year’s Eve on the 31st and the change of time.
