Home decor? Now it can be rented

Are we or are we not in the era of the share economy? So renting is one of the keys to really enter this new era, a way not to waste, to use something only when and as much as needed. Accustomed to renting cars by now, we know that you can also rent clothes, cameras and professional equipment such as stair lifts or vans.

Furniture rental, on the other hand, is something not so usual: now though Contract District Group has opened up the possibility of renting the furnishings on a long-term basis, in a formula «pay per use“, more accessible and more sustainable than a purchase, at least if the idea is to move house quickly.

We are talking about design furnishings: we are talking about Ernesto Meda, Flos, Scavolini, Alessi, the great Made in Italy brands, in short, the ones that get noticed. But that can’t always be afforded. So why not rent them and enjoy them at least for a while? Usually these are agreements that provide for 4 or 8 years of “rent” and we do not think about the single piece, but about the almost complete house, from the kitchen to the bedroom. There are wardrobes, carpets, lights, curtains, outdoor sofas, everything you need.

At the end of the rental agreement, it will be possible to decide whether to redeem the furnishings, thus becoming their full-fledged owners, or whether to return them. In the latter case, what will be returned will then be donated to Society of St. Vincent De Paul, an international association of lay Christians that helps people in poverty. A way therefore to contribute also to a good work.
