Home transmission coronavirus case in New Zealand

A case of domestic transmission of coronavirus was announced today by the New Zealand authorities, two days after the decision to open a “travel bubble” with Australia, to which their citizens will be able to travel again.

Enforcement is not currently being considered lockdown in New Zealand’s largest city, Auckland, nor any change in the opening of this future “travel bubble”.

According to AMPE, the Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern, however, announced the temporary suspension of direct flights from India, from where the majority of carriers of the new coronavirus have arrived in the country in recent weeks.

The person who was diagnosed positive in the young coronavirus is a security guard working at a hotel where New Zealanders returning from abroad are quarantined.

This new case highlights the difficulty of re-authorizing quarantine travel in this country, which has had almost no local transmission cases in months.

The “travel bubble” is expected to open on April 19, more than a year after New Zealand closed its border due to its pandemic. COVID-19.

New Zealand and Australia have largely managed to bring the epidemic under control, only sporadically recording some outbreaks, which are quickly brought under control by short local quarantines.

However, the authorities stated that in the event of a number of outbreaks of the new coronavirus, could block the opening of the “travel bubble”. Therefore, residents who decide to go to the neighboring country could suddenly find themselves forced to observe a costly quarantine on their return.

THE New Zealand currently has 95 active cases of the new coronavirus – the security guard and 94 people who arrived from abroad and were diagnosed positive on arrival. They have all been quarantined in a special center.

The majority of people tested positive for the new coronavirus are travelers returning from India via Dubai.

Ardern clarified that the Suspension of entry to New Zealand of travelers arriving from India will be effective from 11 to 28 April.

This suspension applies to anyone who has been in India for the past 14 days. This is the first time New Zealand has extended any entry ban to its own citizens and residents.

India has recorded 12.8 million cases of the new coronavirus, most after the United States and Brazil. It is now battling a deadly second wave of the epidemic, and this week the number of new cases on a daily basis exceeded that recorded at the peak of the first wave in September.
