Homeless man returns lost wallet to granny and raises money to support him

Honesty is a value that we must never lose even if circumstances put us to the test. Sean Currey is a 57-year-old homeless man from California, United States who found a wallet in the dumpster while looking for something to eat.

Perhaps someone else had taken the opportunity to buy food. However, this man wanted to do the right thing and sought his owner to return what he had lost.

I wanted to do the right thing

The victim was an old woman named Evelyn Topper, who was very concerned about recovering her driver’s license, her credit cards
and medical assistance. He looked everywhere for his wallet, but couldn’t find it. She had given up.

It was very important to Currey to do the right thing and find Evelyn as soon as possible.

I wish someone would do the same for me if I lost my wallet. He knew this woman was probably beside herself not knowing where all her things were.

The wallet fell from his vest

The woman lost her wallet on December 9 by forgetting to close her vest after buying coffees for herself and her granddaughter. When this homeless man contacted her by phone, she couldn’t believe it and immediately went to the parking lot of the shopping center where Currey slept.

Evelyn was so happy and grateful to him that she called Mikayla, her 12-year-old granddaughter, and shared the good news. The teenager had a fantastic idea to help this honest man.

A good opportunity to support

Mikayla’s birthday was approaching, so she took advantage of that special date to raise funds as a gift and help Currey. They managed to raise $ 475 and also created a GoFundMe account to reward this man who had spent five years on the street and was living day by day.

I choked and tears exploded, I felt very honored and special that they did everything possible for me. I am working as much as I can with the pandemic, doing manual jobs where it is offered. But it is difficult without having a base of operations. Not having shelter is not a good thing.

Expect other people to do the same

I think I have a good heart. Maybe if I keep doing the right thing, more people will too and it will change the world, in a small way, for the better.
