Honduras will launch program to help deported by the US

The Honduras Government announced on Sunday (26) that it will launch the program “Hermano, Vuelva the House” (“Brother, return to the house”, in free translation), an initiative to support repatriated citizens in deportation actions of United States.

The initiative aims to ensure that the repatriads have a “worthy” and “safe” return, according to the Honduras Foreign Affairs Secretariat.

The program consists of three pillars:

  • Economic support for benefit, so that deported have an initial income when reintegrating to the country;
  • Food support scheme;
  • Employment Program in various productive sectors.

Honduras thus adds to other regional initiatives to receive immigrants deported by the United States.

The Government of Mexico, for example, presented last week the “Mexico Te about Abraza” (“Mexico Te hugs”, in free translation) to receive repatient citizens.

Mexico will build three temporary housing centers in the state of Tamaulipas, on the American state of Texas, to receive the deported.
