At MWC 2022, HONOR unveiled the long-awaited update to its flagship lineup. The fourth generation of the Magic, as expected, received top-end features, new bright colors and an impressive camera. However, the changes didn’t end there.
The overall design direction remains the same: rounded display edges, metal and glass, and an impressive camera unit on the back, called the “Eye of the Muse”. However, there are differences from the previous generation – for example, the focus is now on the square hole of the camera-peroscope, and not round, which looks quite fresh.

The 6.81-inch HONOR Magic4 Pro display has a resolution of 2848 × 1312 pixels and an increased refresh rate of 120 Hz. As part of the presentation, HONOR also drew attention to the sensor readout frequency, which here was 360 Hz. The smartphone display complies with modern HDR10 + and MEMC standards, and also demonstrates record low PWM values. HONOR Magic 4 received a smaller 6.55-inch screen, which, however, inherits the chips of the older model.

As for the photo capabilities of the flagship, it boasts the presence of 5 sensors on the rear panel:
- 50-megapixel main;
- 50MP ultra wide;
- 64MP 3.5x zoom;
- depth sensor;
- flicker sensor.
Of the interesting chips, it is worth noting the possibility of a 100x hybrid zoom and ultra-wide macro shooting. During the latter, according to the manufacturer, the user can take pictures at a distance of up to 2.5 cm. The dual 12-megapixel front camera allows you to create portraits with blur and unlock the smartphone using 3D face scanning. Also at the presentation, they talked about HONOR Magic-Log, a video format suitable for subsequent color correction. The youngest smartphone in the line received a slightly less impressive set of cameras (8 megapixel telephoto instead of 64 megapixels) and a hybrid zoom limited to 50x.

The HONOR Magic4 Pro chipset uses Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Together with 8 GB of RAM, the device outperforms the iPhone 13 Pro in games by an average of 6-7 FPS. In many ways, these results were achieved thanks to GPU Turbo X technology. HONOR Magic4 without the Pro prefix also has similar hardware.

Another feature of the HONOR Magic4 Pro is the support for ultra-fast 100-watt charging, which allows you to replenish the battery by 4600 mAh from 0 to 50% in just 15 minutes. A more affordable model was equipped with 66W charging support. In addition, HONOR put great emphasis on the protection of personal data. In addition to facial recognition, Magic4 Pro boasts support for Just Say to Me technology, thanks to which people around you will not hear your conversation on the phone, even if you do not wear headphones.

At the end of the presentation, HONOR also showed new accessories: Watch GS 3 watch and Earbuds 3 Pro headphones with support for active noise reduction. To meet today’s challenges, HONOR wearables have received new health-related features. In particular, the watch can measure the level of oxygen in the blood, and the headphones can measure body temperature.
The HONOR Magic4 Pro will start at €899, while its more advanced version starts at €1,099. Watches and headphones will cost buyers 229 and 199 euros, respectively.
