Horror in Italy: Two pit bulls mauled a 13-month-old baby outside Naples

A thirteen-month-old baby was fatally injured this morning by two pit bull dogs at a private residence in Salerno, southern Italy, a short distance from Naples. While the baby was in his uncle's arms, suddenly the two dogs – which belong to a family friend – attacked him, “grabbing” him from the man and injuring him all over his body. The child's mother tried to save him, putting her body forward as a shield, and was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The doctors with the ambulance arrived in record time at the scene of the tragic event, but the child had already succumbed to his injuries, according to what the Athens Agency reports. Last February, a man living in the Manciana area, just outside Rome, was fatally attacked by three rottweiler dogs while jogging in a wooded area.
