Three children under the age of 5 were found yesterday deadly stabbed inside an apartment in Los Angeles, with the children’s mother being arrested as the only suspect, police said.
Police responded to a call at 9:30 a.m. Saturday local time on a building near Resenta Avenue. Police entered the apartment and located the three young children dead, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said on its Twitter account.
Local media initially reported that the victims were under 3 years old, citing police sources.
The children were initially found dead by their grandmother, NBC television reported.
The LAPD announced that the mother of three, 30-year-old Liliana Carrillo, of Latin American descent, was arrested as the only suspect in the macabre case.
Carrigo, according to police, was arrested in Poderosa, Tulare County, California, a mountain community more than 200 miles from Los Angeles, according to NBC.
