Hospitalized, childhood friend says he drank with Porsche manager on the night of the accident

The medical student, Marcus Vinicius, who was injured and had a spleen removed from his body, due to the accident in which businessman Fernando Sastre was indicted for murder, bodily harm and fleeing the scene, told the police that he drank with his friend on the night of April 31 .

The accident caused by the businessman, who was driving a Porsche – valued at R$ 1.3 million – at high speed, also resulted in the death of app driver Ornaldo da Silva Viana. The Civil Police, which has already seen two arrest requests for the businessman denied by the courts, continues to investigate the case.

According to lawyer José Roberto Soares, who represents Marcus, the student wanted to give the statements to the police while still in the hospital “to put an end to the case ”. The young man, who underwent a procedure to remove drains that removed fluid from his lung, is already in his room and spoke to the police this Thursday morning (11).

Soares said that because he was a victim in the investigation, Marcus only gave statements about what happened on the night of the accident. He told police officers that before going to Poker's house, the two couples had drinks at a restaurant. This version is the same as that given by another witness, Marcus's girlfriend, who told the police that they “had a few drinks”.

Regarding possible alcohol consumption at the gaming house, Marcus said he didn't see if his friend drank, since he was at a different table from Fernando and was only concerned with his game.

“The last thing I remember is Fernando speeding up”

The student's memory of the night of the accident is not complete. According to the report made to the police this Thursday morning (11), the last memory is of the childhood friend accelerating the Porsche.

Marcus Vinicius also confirmed the fight between Fernando and his girlfriend. He said that when he arrived outside Poker's house, he saw the couple arguing and that his friend was upset. At this point, he offered to go in the businessman's girlfriend's place.

According to the lawyer, Marcus is recovering well from the medical procedures and should be discharged from hospital between Friday and Saturday.
