Hostages rescued in Rafah by Israeli forces are Argentines

The hostages released in Rafah, in the south of Gaza, on Sunday night (11), are Argentines, the Argentine Presidency reported this Monday (12).

As disclosed by the Israeli military, the hostages rescued during Israel's special operation are Fernando Simon Marman, 60, and Louis Har, 70. The two were kidnapped on October 7 by Hamas

On Twitter, the Argentine Executive thanked the Israeli security forces for the operation. “The Office of the President thanks the Israel Defense Forces, Shabak and the Israeli Police for successfully completing the rescue of Argentines Fernando Simon Marman (60) and Louis Har (70), kidnapped since October 7 by the terrorist group Hamas ”.

In a statement, the Argentine government also highlighted the conversations that the country's president, Javier Milei, had with the Israeli president and prime minister during his visit to Israel last week.

Milei was invited by Netanyahu, in December last year, to visit the country, after winning the elections in Argentina.

“During his visit to the State of Israel, President Javier Milei reiterated to President Isaac Herzog and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu the request for the release of each of the Argentine hostages.”

In the note, the Argentine government also says that it “continues to firmly maintain its condemnation of Hamas terrorism”.
