Hotel das Cataratas is voted the best in South America for the sixth consecutive year

O Falls Hotel belonging to the group Belmond won the title of best hotel in South America for the sixth consecutive year for Forbes Travel Guide.

Located within the Iguaçu National Park, in Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná, the development remains the only one in Brazil and South America to be rated with five stars, the highest rating given by the guide, which is in its 64th edition.

How the assessment is done

A team of professional inspectors travels the world, anonymously, to evaluate hotels, restaurants and spas against 900 objective standards that determine the categories: five stars, four stars and recommended. In addition to the facilities, the star rating system evaluates the overall experience, including the quality of service and the ability to provide guests with warmth, good feelings and unforgettable moments.

About Belmond Hotel das Cataratas

Surrounded by tropical nature, the hotel, opened in 1950, has been operated since 2007 by the luxury brand Belmond. It underwent extensive renovations and has 187 rooms, the largest category being the Cataratas Suite, with a separate living room, the possibility of connecting to a second bedroom and even privileged views of the waterfalls.

Decorated with marble and dark wood, the development has three restaurants, a spa, well-maintained gardens and personalized activities in the surrounding nature and, of course, in the Falls, considered a Natural Heritage of Humanity. There, guests also have reserved and exclusive times to enjoy the National Park. More details about Hotel das Caratas can be found in this special article made by CNN Viagem & Gastronomia.
