With the premise of transporting guests to the time of the French Empire, the Brazilian hotel colline de france in Lawn (RS), it was voted the third best hotel in the world in 2023.
The result is part of Travellers’ Choice 2023 , ranking of the Tripadvisor platform that chooses the 25 best hotels around the Earth. The list is based on ratings and ratings from registered travelers and data is collected over 12 months.
Currently, the hotel appears with a maximum score of 5 points based on 3,283 reviews from platform users.
It is worth remembering that this is not the first time that the hotel is among the best in the world. Last year, the property ranked second on the same list, but the lead came in 2021, when the Colline de France was named the best hotel in the world, according to Travellers’ Choice.
Colline de France is the only Brazilian representative in the current ranking and is second only to hotels Rambagh Palace in Jaipur, India, and Ozen Reserve Bolifushi in the Maldives.
The hotel
With 34 suites, the Colline de France is exquisitely decorated with the use of hand-carved and gold-plated imperial-style furniture.
Accommodations feature 300-thread-count Egyptian cotton bed linen, ostentatious chandeliers, marble-finished bathrooms and retractable magnifying mirrors.
Heated swimming pools, including the main one with hydromassage jets and a sculpture of a large jellyfish on the wall, as well as a wet sauna, are among the attractions for warming up in the cold Serra Gaúcha.
A wellness center offers relaxing massages, body and facial treatments.
A recent addition, the “bougainvillea garden” is an outdoor space with a water fountain, a fire pit and two gazebos, one closed and air-conditioned and the other open.
The hotel’s restaurant follows French cuisine and bets on traditional recipes from the European country. At breakfast, guests find croissants, baguettes and brioches to start their day.
The hotel is located two kilometers from the center of Gramado, one of the most targeted cities of Brazilian tourism.
With just over 36,000 inhabitants and about two hours from Porto Alegre, Gramado stands out year after year among the most popular destinations for national travelers, especially during the July holidays and at Christmas time, a period in which the destination receives the biggest Christmas event in the country.
