One person died after a house collapsed in downtown Rio de Janeiro (RJ) on the afternoon of Thursday (20).
The information was confirmed to CNN by the Military Fire Department. The victim was in a car and was hit by the rubble.
The accident occurred in a residential building on Senador Pompeu Street, which was banned after the accident.

In a statement, the Rio de Janeiro State Military Police reported that agents were called to verify information about the collapse.
At the scene, the military found that the facade of a building had collapsed, obstructing the road.
The Civil Police were also called and requested expertise for the scene. The occurrence is underway.
