“House of the Dragon”: the official images of the spin-off of “Game of Thrones” that we will see in 2022

A few weeks after the first take, HBO decides to ignore that saying that armored sets are more interesting than open ones and to publish the first images of House of the Dragon, the first spin-off of Game of Thrones which testifies to the need of the network to return to focus on a strong title able to keep the shack up for the next decades. After the (lost) bet with Westworld and the abnormal investment in various serial productions, it is clear that HBO needs to revive the attention of the mainstream audience (and of the great investors of the past) to try to bring a franchise back to life, that of Game of Thrones, which is perhaps the strongest title the network has given away since Sex and the City.

House of the Dragon, which will arrive on HBO in 2022 and which in Italy we will see simultaneously on Sky and NOW, it is based on the novel Fire and blood by George RR Martin, who also features here as executive producer: a story set 300 years before the events told in Game of Thrones and fully focused on the adventures of the members of House Targaryen. Like Princess Rhaenyra played by Emma D’Arcy, the eldest daughter of King Viserys, a thoroughbred Valyrian dragon knight; the Daemon Prince played by the great Matt Smith, younger brother of King Viserys and heir to the throne, unparalleled warrior and knight of Dragons; and Lord Corlys Velaryon (Steve Toussaint), also called “The Sea Snake”, the most famous adventurer to ever sail the seas in the history of Westeros, richer than the Lannisters and proud owner of the largest fleet the world has known.
