House of woman who was on vacation is demolished by mistake in the USA

A resident of Atlanta, in the United States, had her house demolished while she was on vacation. Sarah Hodgson received a call from her neighbor, during her return from her days off, who asked her about a possible request to dismantle the property. The woman denied it, but it was too late.

After being notified about the incident, she called the company responsible for the demolition and explained that the house was not abandoned. The employees allegedly told her to “shut up and mind her own business”. As Sarah hadn’t arrived yet, she asked a family member to go to the location to find out what was happening.

Upon arrival, the supervisor discovered that the demolition was scheduled to take place at another address. The team would then have stored their equipment and left the property covered in rubble. In fact, the house had been closed for 15 years, however, Sarah kept belongings inside the property. Furthermore, she revealed that she paid her taxes regularly and that she maintained the front lawn.

“How does someone just go to a person’s house, knock it down and leave as if nothing had happened? How can they find this acceptable? They owe me an apology and they need to resolve this issue,” said the woman.

Still according to information from the New York Post, the company did not comment publicly and did not contact Sarah. However, those responsible for the demolition mistakenly declared to the American press that they are “working to resolve the incident”.
