How AMD put Intel on the blades in just one year. Ryzen Success Story by One PC Manufacturer

The statistics of the processor market in general allows us to find out that AMD now holds about 20% and has been steadily increasing its figure over the past three years.

At the same time, in some segments, the share of AMD can be several times higher, which is well demonstrated by the statistics of the German store Mindfactory.

Today the company Puget Systems, which specializes in assembling and selling various PCs for different segments, has shared its own statistics.

As stated in the blog of the company, in 2015, it simply excluded AMD CPUs from its range, since few people were interested in the corresponding PCs.

Judging by the charts, some noticeable sales of PCs with AMD processors were outlined in 2017 – after the release of the first generation Ryzen. But despite the fact that this generation already looked very attractive, sales from Puget Systems were extremely modest. The release of Ryzen 2000, as expected, did not give a significant increase, but Ryzen 3000, due to an impressive increase in performance, interested the manufacturer and users much more, due to which the share of computers based on AMD CPUs began to grow rapidly and reached 50% in November. Now such CPUs account for about 55%.

Of course, this is only one manufacturer, and far from the largest, but such statistics rarely appear on the Web, so it is very interesting to assess the rapid change in user and manufacturer preferences using this example.
