How Brazil plans to achieve new environmental goals assumed at COP26

Brazil’s participation in the first week of COP26 (26th United Nations Conference on Climate Change), held in Glasgow, Scotland, was marked by the country’s commitment to anticipate and expand its goals to face global warming.

The Brazilian government has pledged to eliminate illegal deforestation in the country by 2028, reduce 50% of greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and neutralize carbon emissions by 2050. Brazil has also agreed to join a global agreement to cut emissions of the potent greenhouse gas methane by 30% by 2030.
