Intel’s Rocket Lake desktop processors will be unveiled on March 16 and will go on sale on March 30. Intel does not prepare mobile processors for Rocket Lake, but this does not mean that laptops with new generation CPUs cannot appear on the market.
The Chinese company Hasee has already added Ares TX8 and TX9 laptops equipped with Rocket Lake processors to its range. How is this possible? As in other similar cases: the manufacturer is simply using desktop CPUs.
Specifically, these laptops are already available with Comet Lake-S processors, and they are known to have the same LGA 1200 performance as Rocket Lake. Thus, it is enough for Hasee to simply update the BIOS of the motherboards.
In more detail, laptops are based on the CPI Core i5-11400 or Core i7-11700. Both can be accompanied by either GeForce RTX 3060 or RTX 3070 graphics cards. The Ares TX8 starts at $ 1,300 and the Ares TX9 starts at $ 1,670.
