How do you vote at Eurovision 2022?

How do you vote for your favorite in the Eurovision Song Contest? The question is legitimate, and has a fairly elementary answer: through televoting. During the two semifinals on Tuesday 10 and Thursday 12 May and the final on Saturday 14 it will be possible to express your preference on a song or artist in the competition by calling from fixed 894.222 or from mobile 475.475.0. The so-called “televoting session”, that is the period of time between the moment in which the opening of the televoting is communicated and the moment in which the closure of the same is communicated, will be indicated by the conductors Laura Pausini, Alessandro Cattelan and Mika in two specific moments of the evenings, reminding us of a fundamental rule of Eurovision: each country cannot vote for its own delegationbut only for the “adversary” ones.

The Italians will therefore not be able to support Mahmood and Blanco and theirs Chills during the final on Saturday, hoping that other countries will vote for it: a way like any other to strengthen the community with other nations – the Eurovision Song Contest, after all, was born after the Second World War precisely to bring Europe together under the same flag, that music – and clearing the selfishness that would automatically lead a country to cheer for its artist and not care about others. A numerical code will be assigned to each song in the competition and viewers will be able to express their preference by sending the code corresponding to the chosen song via SMS also via the Eurovision Song Contest App, created and developed by Digame – Company appointed by EBU for the management and collection of votes or by typing the code on the keypad in the case of a call from Fixed.

As we know, there are a total of 40 countries participating in the Eurovision Song Contest. However, the so-called Big Five will participate in the final on May 14th: France, United Kingdom, Spain, Germany and the Host Broadcaster, that is to say Italy. The remaining 35 countries will be divided into 2 semi-finals: in the first 17 countries will compete (however, only 10 will qualify); in the second the remaining 18 (also in this case, only 10 will qualify). This means that the Eurovision final will see the overall participation of 25 countries. The televoting, both for the semifinals and for the final, will be added the votes of the National Juries: the sum of the two voting systems will guarantee the qualification of the songs that will be able to continue the race.
