KINAL has a “forum”. Already before the election of Nikos Androulakis as the leader of the new KINAL-PASOK, the party was showing signs of intense “mobility”. It was confirmed by the increased participation in the polls, recorded in the first polls that followed. The almost doubling of his percentages is an extremely auspicious sign for the Social Democratic Party and its new leader.

“Renewal” is the message received by all stakeholders. The ambitions and the “air” in the third party are even greater and expressed.

The center

From which pool of voters, valuable for both big players (ND-SYRIZA) will the new PASOK irrigate votes? In the N.D. the assessment is well known: From the “serious” social democrats, who in the previous period passed to SYRIZA. The two parties are communicating containers, but the large container is in danger of being emptied. This is the dominant assessment in the blue lineup.

SYRIZA, of course, does not share this analysis. On the contrary, he estimates, through official leaks from the day after Nikos Androulakis became the leader, that if anyone is “in danger” from the reconstruction of KINAL, it is Kyriakos Mitsotakis because his frustrated voters who do not have center-left roots but they now have reasons to return to PASOK from where they recently left, ie in the 2019 national elections.

The waiting attitude of Alexis Tsipras for the time being towards the Movement for Change, is primarily due to the need to “weigh” his new president. It is a given to SYRIZA that there is no case for the new KINAL to seek any kind of approach before the elections. It would be like “shooting” their feet. However, the president of SYRIZA is not in a hurry for unnecessary socializing with Nikos Androulakis either. The embarrassment is obvious but it is not due to this distance that A. Tsipras observes. He expects Mr. Androulakis to open his political papers: What are his positions on a pandemic, Accuracy, minimum wage, NSS support, Education and so on.

The strategy for SYRIZA towards the neighboring party is specific: In the agenda that we have already formed with specific political stakes and a request for “progressive governance”, KINAL will be called to take a position and from the positions it will take, the politician will be judged. of character.

After all, they have already passed from the “central” of Koumoundourou to the new leadership of KINAL: Sooner or later he will have to take a position: Opposite or next to the government choices and plan because “both with the democratic faction and K. Mitsotakis, it is not possible “.

In addition to this, they leave hints for the polls (and those that will appear as a product of time) that they will show “inflated” the percentage of KINAL to “hit” the dynamics of SYRIZA and its profile as a central player in the dipole: Center-left or Center-right.

In these general formulations and findings, however, associates of the President of SYRIZA, speaking to “K”, emphatically add that there is no case for us to polarize the climate with the Movement for Change. Our opponent is Kyriakos Mitsotakis and his policies, not the neighboring party. The invitation to “coexist” for the next day in the form of an alliance for a “progressive government” is a strategic choice for SYRIZA, in order to keep alive its relevant narrative. Therefore, what is shared on the way to the next ballot boxes should not complicate any prospect of cooperation. That is, hostility – apart from shocking surprises and developments – is not an option for SYRIZA.

Choices

There are few cases of SYRIZA executives who rushed to make suggestions to their president, but indicative (and certainly not at all welcome by Mr. Tsipras): Christoforos Bernardakis and Stelios Kouloglou. The first hurried to propose to the leader of the official opposition to “give a big hug to Nikos Androulakis, the second, to decide that Alexis Tsipras had a competitor. Both annoying interventions, for obvious reasons and one not so obvious: Alexis Tsipras has strategically chosen to avoid for the time being “entangling” his executives in discussions about KINAL that do not concern the framework, as he has put it: KINAL will be judged by the answers it will give to major political and social issues .

Weights

And if the “big” picture of how SYRIZA will move towards KINAL soon, has been formed, there are shifts in the profile of the official opposition party and especially its leader, which remain to be verified but are recorded as concerns. For how much longer, for example, Alexis Tsipras will allow the image to be given that his party is under constant eating and introversion and that his “instructions” are being obeyed, gnawing at power – which I say new KINAL – is an even more critical bet. the moment to show off? He will continue to “fish” in all the audiences on the left of the center or he will focus on the most useful for SYRIZA if they have of course come up with what it is.

The deletion of Kouroubli the other day is not part of a quality plan. It was the result of a specific circumstance: A. Tsipras wanted to go to the duel with Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Parliament with a “clear field”. However, the message that the SYRIZA Political Center sent on Friday in a meeting with its associates had a broader address: From now on, no one will be allowed to move outside the agreed framework, causing damage to the party to the delight of the opponent.
