How midterm elections influence the political landscape in the US

US voters went to the polls last Tuesday (8) to choose the 435 congressmen of the House of Representatives, 35 of the 100 senators and the governor in 36 states. Voting between presidential elections in the United States is considered a barometer of government approval and, historically, has often given the opposition an advantage.

The beginning of the investigation indicates that the victory of the Republican Party, of former President Donald Trump, is drawn smaller than the one projected by the electoral polls and, despite the confirmation of a majority of the opposition to the government of Joe Biden in the House, the Democrats have chances of maintaining control over the Senate.
