Red, orange, yellow zone. Each color corresponds to a change in habits, daily routine. Ah, the routine, how much we miss. Before the pandemic, before everything was irremediably upset, it was close to us, at times it was boring. And now?
The campaign starts from this question Fantastic Routine launched by the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and active until 14 February. The goal is to rebuild 4000 schools in the Sahel, e to help 700,000 refugee children to go back to school, with one donation to 45588.
Because if there is one thing we have understood in this year of pandemic it is how important certainties are. How much they help us feel good and how much they are, even more so, for children.
“Never before does this appeal seem coherent and appropriate to us. Because now perhaps we can all better understand how fundamental certainties are. Especially the education of children, an indispensable routine, ”he explains Laura Iucci, UNHCR Italia fundraising director.
“The Sahel is one of the fastest growing crises in the world. In that area, lack of education is an absolute emergency. We are working tirelessly in Niger, Burkina Faso and Mali. To rebuild schools, make them safe and also prevent the spread of Covid-19, but we need everyone’s help “.
The survey The routine of Italians at the time of the pandemic, made by the research company DOXA forUNHCR, reveals how much in recent months each of us has reevaluated life as before and how much he would like to return.
Beyond 7 out of 10 Italians (75%) they would definitely like to go back to life as before. And more than 8 your 10 (85%) he found it difficult to adapt to limitations imposed by the pandemic.
This was not the case in 2013, when 35% of our compatriots (almost 18 million Italians) declared that they would immediately change their lives if only they could.
The future appears uncertain, even if many of us hope that something has been learned in recent months and that therefore the daily routine can still be improved by Covid. Certainly changed. Over half of the respondents (53%) states that, after this experience, he will appreciate more the certainties and the little things in life, without taking anything for granted.
21% also say they will try to reduce waste as much as possible. Finally the 20% claims that he will no longer get caught up in work frenzy and daily commitments. And who will dedicate more time for the affections and the really important things. Finally 6% say they will dedicate more time for even the most vulnerable people.
In areas such as the central Sahel, between Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger, there are approx 3.6 million internally displaced persons and refugees. Among them, the number of displaced people has quadrupled in the past two years, reaching i 2 millions.
In this context, the pandemic has taken the frailty of millions of people to an extreme. Starting with the children, who are unable to go to school and remain on the streets, risking violence and exploitation.
The funds raised by the campaign Fantastic Routine, to which several well-known faces from Carolina Crescentini, Greta Scarano, Francesco Pannofino and many others have joined, will be destined for the construction or renovation of schools and other didactic spaces.
Also Serie A will dedicate to her the 20th day of the championship scheduled for 29, 30 and 31 January,
Part of the proceeds will also be used for the organization of distance learning for children who live in areas where there is no necessary security or where schools are closed due to COVID-19. But they will also be used for teacher training, to give psychosocial support and to supply water, disinfectant gels and other devices for the prevention of the virus.
Everyone can contribute with a donation: from landline or SMS to the solidarity number 45588 from January 24 to February 14, 2021. The value of the donation will be 2 euros for each SMS sent from mobile phones, 5 or 10 euros for calls from landlines.
