How much does a ski week in Italy cost? Here are all the prices from Bormio to Cortina

The increases are not those of previous years but are still significant. The latest edition of the investigation by Altroconsumo on costs of the so-called white week explains that prices show no signs of cooling. For 8 days, therefore 7 nights, around New Year’s Eve 3,125 euros each, 14% more than a year ago. The research took into consideration the costs of round tripof ski pass (among other things for only 5 days) and of overnight stay in a 3-star hotel or b&b. Items that would naturally push the bill even higher are missing from the balance sheet: i meals (maybe New Year’s Eve dinner) e other extra costs such as the possible rental of ski equipment, even partial. The survey compares that week with another which, although still in the high season, would in theory allow significant savings. Meaning what that of Carnivalfrom 1st to 8th March 2025.

You save money at Carnival

The calculations were made taking into account nine of the most popular ski destinationsdiscovering – without too many surprises, actually – that at Carnival the expense is often much lower. Livigno it is the location with the largest difference: a week at Carnival instead of New Year’s allows you to reduce the outlay by more than half, i.e. from 4,233 euros it drops to 2,026 euros, a difference of 109%. Savings are lower where costs are already lower. AND Tarvisioin fact, the location of the survey where the convenience at Carnival is lower, just 329 euros (from 1,724 euros it drops to 1,395).

If the New Year’s ski holiday is increased in price by 14% in twelve monthshow’s the Carnival party doing? The calculation is easy to do: the comparison of costs between the seven Alpine resorts in common with last year’s sample reveals that in 2025 the increase was on average 5% (from 1,801 to 1,904 euros). But there are places where the increases are in double figures, for example Cortina (+11%) and Madonna di Campiglio (+10%). However, there is also an exception: the miracle happens a Champolucwhere there is a drop in costs of 3% (from 1,817 to 1,754 euros).

What costs so much

Of the total cost of the stay, the expenses weigh the most, i.e. over 60%. overnight stay. And the ski holiday is certainly no exception, even if that item competes with the equally heavy expense for the ski pass. To sleep seven nights during the Carnival period you need to budget 1,650 euros for Madonna di Campiglio And 1,467 euros for Cortina. The cheapest accommodation can be found in Tarvisio (851 euros) e Bormio (1,014 euros). Compared to last year, there was an average increase of 6.7%, with peaks exceeding 15%. Curtain, Campiglio And Tarvisio. Prices almost unchanged Vigo di Fassa (+0.8) and the increase a was limited Bormio (+2.1%). The exception this time is Champolucwhere rates fortunately drop by almost 9% in a year.

Ski pass, but how much does it cost us? (Or, how we will ski in the future)
This year too, ski pass prices on our mountains have increased slightly, but in the (not too distant) future a day on the snow could have unaffordable costs, at least for most of us. And skiing packages are already being promoted – at an affordable price – in Bulgaria or Kazakhstan

If you choose a B&B

The B&Bs they can be a solution to save somethingalthough not always. As demonstrated by the case of Vigo di Fassawhere it is precisely among the hotels that the association recorded the lowest prices: 17% less than B&Bs. In all other locations, however, the balance weighs in favor of the latter, choosing which ones spending is cut by an average of 40%. In fact, hotels cost almost double a Champoluc and 73% more in Livigno while the smallest gap is in Bormio (+16%). The advice of the Altroconsumo experts is to always carry out a cross-check between the offers present in the online booking or comparison platforms (Booking, Trivago and so on) and those on the official website of the accommodation facilities, since the latter increasingly prefer to offer overnight stays at lower prices instead of paying the commission to the intermediaries. Advice that is actually always good, for every trip.

«If you are not interested in a particular ski slope, choosing the closest destination can be an excellent strategy for saving kilometers, driving time and money» conclude from Altroconsumo. An alternative, given the numerous innovations in recent years and also more respectful of the environment, may be to evaluate, where necessary, the locations reachable by train or the closest ones.
