The president of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Minister Luiz Fux, opened the work of the Judiciary in 2022 with a speech earlier this week in which he defended that the election year be marked by tolerance and said that there is no more room for actions against the democratic regime or violence against public institutions.
The expectation is that the October elections will have a strong influence on the definition of agendas for both Justice and Congress. The Judiciary must analyze issues such as the legality of party federations and the ineligibility for convicts under the Clean Record Law. In the House and Senate, parliamentarians will have to decide whether or not to move forward with projects to change fuel taxation and reforms that have dragged on for years.
