Five categories of socially vulnerable citizens are specifically targeted by the measures of the Ministry of Labor against accuracy – within the overall package measures announced by the government yesterday.
Specifically, those who will benefit will be the beneficiaries of family benefits, the low-income pensioners, the uninsured elderly, the disabled and the beneficiaries of the Minimum Guaranteed Income.
Beneficiaries of family allowances
An additional one and a half monthly installment of child allowance is granted in April, to the March beneficiaries (ie installment corresponding to 1.5 months). The amount of aid is 105 or 63 or 42 euros for each child for the first and second child, depending on the amount of income, and 210 or 126 or 84 by the third and for each subsequent child. The beneficiaries amount to 625,000, with more than 1 million children and the cost is estimated at 97.5 million euros.
* According to official data, the average monthly family allowance is 137 euros. If the 1st monthly installment is paid in April, the beneficiaries will receive the average amount of 205 euros (137 euros X 1.5).
2. Low-income retirees
Aid of 200 euros to 676,735 low-income retirees. Beneficiaries are (as in December) retirees who have an annual individual taxable income for the tax year 2020 up to 7,200 euros (600 euros per month), an annual family taxable income of up to 14,400 euros and the total taxable value of real estate does not exceed 200 euros. The cost is estimated at 135 million euros.
* Thus, a pensioner, for example, with a monthly income of 600 euros, will receive an extraordinary allowance of 200 euros, which corresponds to 33% of his income.
3. Uninsured elderly
Aid of 200 euros to 34,964 uninsured seniors at a cost of 7 million euros.
* The uninsured elderly allowance is close to 200 euros. Therefore the extraordinary allowance will correspond to 100% of the said income from this allowance.
4. Disabled
Aid of 200 euros to 166,982 recipients of disability benefits at a cost of 33.4 million euros. Disability benefits vary depending on the case.
* Based on official data, the average disability allowance is 427 euros. Therefore, the extraordinary allowance of next April will correspond to 46% of the average monthly income from the allowances for the disabled.
5. Minimum Guaranteed Income.
Double installment of the minimum guaranteed income to 241,281 beneficiaries of the minimum guaranteed income, at a cost of 50.9 million euros.
* According to official figures, the average Minimum Guaranteed Income is 225 euros. Therefore, the average beneficiary of the Minimum Guaranteed Income will receive an additional 225 euros (on average), ie 100% of this allowance.
