Preparing the coffee tonic is as easy as it is immediate. Only 170ml of tonic water is needed 60 ml of coffee (the strength of the coffee depends on your taste) and ice cubes.

First you need to fill the bottom of a glass with ice, and add the tonic water to cover the cubes. Let it rest for a few minutes so that the tonic becomes as fresh as possible. Then pour the coffee into the glass. Better to do this slowly to allow the tonic water to mix with the coffee creating an almost frothy result.

A FEW LITTLE ADVICE

The procedure for making a good coffee tonic is very easy, but you have to pay attention to the order in which the ingredients are inserted. Pouring the coffee must in fact be the last step: if added first it will melt the ice and you will not get the refreshing drink we would have liked.

There are also differences based on the type of coffee you use. For example, pouring a machine espresso over the tonic will create a small layer of foam that many appreciate and point to as the best part of the drink. The mocha coffee also mixes very well with the tonic, but with this preparation the cream on top is less. Experts then advise you to use fruity coffee beans, such as those from Ethiopia or Kenya. These pair well with the citrus flavors of the tonic water.

Finally, green light for creativity. In fact, you can add a personal touch to your coffee tonic, for example by adding a splash of lemon or orange, or a teaspoon of honey or maple syrup to make it sweeter. If you want to make the coffee tonic a little more drink strong, just add 30ml of gin or whiskey for a fantastic result to enjoy after dinner.
