Earlier this month, a new version of the Galaxy S20 FE appeared in the Wi-Fi Alliance’s database. The same smartphone was spotted in the database of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission of Thailand (NBTC) last week.
According to SamMobile, the new version of the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, but the device will not support the latest fifth-generation mobile networks. The smartphone will be able to work in 4G networks, which is confirmed by the NBTC regulator.

The new version of the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE will receive model number SM-G780G and the same specs as the original Galaxy S20 FE, which was unveiled in September 2020. It will also have an MST chip for Samsung Pay, which is not found in the Galaxy S21 series.
It is not yet known exactly why Samsung is going to release a new variant of the Galaxy S20 FE a few months after the release of the original smartphone. Perhaps to lower the price of the device and stir up interest in the Galaxy S21 FE, which is expected to be announced in August this year.
